Gippsland and online across Australia

Helping owners of working breeds and high drive dogs build a life their dog can thrive in.

Kelpies, Heelers, Border Collies, Koolies and other high drive dogs don't need generic advice. They need an owner who understands what's actually going on underneath the behaviour, and a plan built around it.

We work with your dog's instincts, not against them.

A kelpie that won't settle, a heeler that nips at heels, a dog that seems switched on all the time. These aren't flaws to train out. They're instincts with nowhere to go. Our approach gives those instincts a job, so your dog can finally switch off, and you can finally relax.

Built for the dogs most people find too much.

Reactivity, overarousal, pushy behaviour, or a dog that never seems to switch off. Usually a drive problem wearing a behaviour costume.

Meet Kirsty

G'day. I’m Kirsty, the trainer behind THDM.

I work with dogs that are bright, busy, sensitive, intense, or all of the above, and my particular interest is herding breeds, high drive dogs, and behaviour cases where there's more going on underneath than people first realise.

I understand these dogs partly through ten years of training experience, and partly because I see a lot of myself in them.

What Our Clients Say

"Before training with Kirsty, Shadow was full-on—pulling on walks, overexcited, and I felt totally out of my depth. But Kirsty changed everything. She gave me the confidence to lead, and helped us build trust and structure.
Now, Shadow is calm, focused, and loves her Walk & Train sessions. She’s got great recall, knows sit, stay, left, right, middle, and is learning ‘find it’ with my daughter Chloe—it’s become a family journey.
If you’re on the fence about working with Kirsty—just do it. She sees both the dog and the human, and the difference she’s made in our lives is incredible."

“I was really unsure if I was doing the right thing for Hetty when it came to training. I didn’t want to mess it up or make things worse.

Working with Kirsty gave me the guidance and confidence I needed—not just for Hetty, but for myself as well.

She has this amazing ability to read both dogs and people, which makes her training feel so personal and spot-on.

Everything was explained in a way that actually made sense, and she worked with us at our own pace.

It felt more like building a partnership than just following a set of rules.

I’m so glad we found her."
