Returns and Refunds Policy

The Holistic Dog Method

The Holistic Dog Method aims to provide practical training services and quality products for dogs and their owners. If something is not right with your purchase, we will work with you to resolve the issue in line with Australian Consumer Law.

This policy outlines how returns, refunds, and cancellations are handled for products and services purchased through our website.

1. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.

You are also entitled to have goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to meet acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in this policy replaces or limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.

2. Physical Products

If you purchase a physical product from The Holistic Dog Method and it arrives damaged, faulty, or incorrect, please contact us within 7 days of receiving your order.

When contacting us please include:

  • your name

  • order number

  • description of the issue

  • photos if the product is damaged or faulty

Where appropriate we may offer:

  • a replacement

  • a repair

  • a refund

depending on the nature of the issue.

3. Change of Mind Returns

We do not generally offer refunds for change of mind.

However, if you contact us within 7 days of receiving your order, we may accept a return at our discretion if the product:

  • is unused

  • is in its original condition

  • is in original packaging

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs for change of mind returns.

Shipping costs from the original order are not refundable.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items may not be eligible for return unless faulty:

  • used dog equipment or training tools

  • opened consumable items

  • digital downloads or online programs once accessed

This is for hygiene and safety reasons.

5. Dog Safety and Product Use

Dogs should always be supervised when using toys, enrichment tools, or training equipment.

Owners are responsible for ensuring products are suitable for their dog’s size, strength, and behaviour.

The Holistic Dog Method is not responsible for damage or injury caused by improper use of products.

6. Digital Products and Online Programs

Digital products, downloads, and online courses are non-refundable once access has been granted, unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

If you experience technical issues accessing a digital product, please contact us so we can assist.

7. Training Services and Consultations

Refunds are not available for completed training sessions, consultations, or assessments.

If you need to change a booking, please refer to our Booking and Cancellation Policy.

In some circumstances we may offer rescheduling options where reasonable notice is provided.

8. Group Classes, Workshops, and Events

Group programs and events often require advance planning and limited spaces.

Refunds are generally not available once a place has been booked unless required under Australian Consumer Law.

If you cannot attend, please contact us as soon as possible and we may offer:

  • transfer to another session

  • credit toward a future service

where possible.

9. Processing Refunds

Where a refund is approved, it will usually be processed using the original payment method.

Please allow up to 5–10 business days for refunds to appear depending on your bank or payment provider.
